Completed stuff from scrap weekend away Feb 2012

Last weekend I went on another fabulous scrapping weekend away with my wonderful scrapping buddies. Here are the things I completed. I was very proud of myself with what I achieved!
This is the blank drawer unit I started with. I cheated and glued it together before I went away. I'm so glad I did as you don't get any instructions and it was fiddly putting it together.
The next few photos show the two finished drawer units for my office desk. They are not perfect as I knew I was making them for me but I am still really happy with them.
I had this denim paer for ages and finally got to use it. My office is blue+white+ black +silver+mess!

The next unit looked like this when I started it. And again it was tricky to put together so I'm glad I did that bit at home.

Here is my finished box for my office desk at home. When I purchased these at Kaisercraft in Geelong, a few weeks ago, they had their display one decorated with sort of kitchen themed paper and had put recipe leaflets in the tall back section (which fits 12 inch paper) and spice jars in the short front section. I'm sure you could use it just about anywhere depending on how you decorated it.

Again, please bare in mind that it's not perfect as I was making it for myself!

The ribbon and buttons across the back were put there to cover up the gap in my paper pieces. I then put ribbon and buttons on the side to match.

When I finished the drawer units I then did these layouts which I had brought with me just in case I finished them. I was going to do some schoolwork instead but gave in and completed these!
Mother's Day Love at the Footy Club May 2009.

The photos are a bit strange as I printed them on canvas paper as an experiment and the colour is not perfect on them. My jumper was black, not dark brown! Used paper doilies I received in my weekend away goodie bag - hooray! My boys are so much bigger now. Sam is nearly as tall as I am.

I love  these Ruby Rocket rubons ( I personally hate rubons - or do they hate me?????) but these birdies won me over. I have heaps of rubons and still presevere in using them but I usually end up in a horrible mess wirth them. oh and the shaped stripey sort of ledger paper was not a fancy shape like this. I just traced it from a shaped piece and then chopped it in half.

I love these round epoxy letters. I have heaps of different sorts of them and mix them up and use them a lot.

A pearl in the middle of the word adds a nice little touch. I could have placed it more carefully I suppose!

You can probably see how grainy the canvas photos are in this close up. Sebastian doesn't usually smile like this. And he has lovely big boy's teeth now. These little ones make him look like such a baby - awww!!!

My other double layout from the weekend away. Good pals, well most of the time!
It was just an ordinary afternoon and Bastian and Georgie were playing in the washing basket. This took way too much time to complete as there are stupid rubons everywhere!
I put a different brad for the flower centre in each coloured flower.

I'm so glad I finally got to use these crochet flowers that I keep selling to everyone else. I haven't put them in my ebay shop yet but I am selling them for 50c each! So cheap and they look spectacular.

I love these letters. I have used them so much. if anyone has half a sheet left that they want to get rid of I will happily pay to take them off your hands asI have used them over and over and over again. And I ran out of L's so used a 1 and ran out of S's so used $ and cut the extra bits off it. I can't even remember the manufacturer of these letters.

Yuk! Apart from the fact that Georgie is picking her nose they are both filthy. But like a good scrapbooking Mum I didn't race off to bath them - I photographed them!!! Will they hate me for this when they are older???

Georgie is not injured above her eyebrow - it's texta! And I love rubons on photos even though they do hate me. And the blue dribble is a mystery?
And who said you can't have a square flower centre - I think it looks good!

Umm - another photo they will hate me for. Sabastian is under there somewhere!

I hope you enjoyed these photos. It's great when blogger works. I have tried to upload photos so many times only for it to crash - here's hoping everything is fine this time. When my scrapping buddy Karen emails me her weekend group shot I will upload it as well!
Thanks for looking and I would love for you to leave a comment!

Kaisercraft Outlet Geelong

Kim and I spent a lovely time together down in Geelong when we went to the Kaisercraft Outlet. I bought a few bargains to put in my little shop as well as some bits and pieces for myself. I bought two tiered sets of mini drawers and a desk organiser which I had seen before in a magazine and on their blog.  I'll post photos on here when I get around to decorating them, hopefully at my next scrapping weekend away in February!

I have been very lucky this week as my bestest buddy Kim took me out for my birthday on Tuesday (it was my 50th birthday on the 6th Jan) and I had no idea where I was going. She toook me down to Williamstown for a full body massage and then we had a yummy lunch in a little cafe after wandering through a heap of lovely little boutiques, gift stores and bookshops.  A bit like my idea of bliss!

And then she came over this morning and we took off (childless again - yay!) to Geelong and spent a while in Kaisercraft, went around the corner and up the road a bit and found a beautiful sandwich bar and then found the patchwork shop we were looking for hiding around the bend from there. We then came home and I unpacked all my scrapping goodies and uploaded and edited photos on my PC in the family room while Kim scrapped right next to me on my big kitchen table.

Sometimes we don't see each other for months on end, although we always keep in touch by phone, so to see my best buddy for two full days in one week was very special. Thanks Kim - love ya lots!XXX

Hmm, sometimes blogger is just not my friend! It wouldn't let me upload any images!

Scrapping dates for November, December and January

It's about time I figured out some dates for scrapping together so here is what I have come up with!

FRIDAY 11th NOVEMBER 2011
11.00am 'til late

SATURDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2011 8.30am 'til late

HO,HO,HO????

Let's celebrate the end of the year early as it is just too, too hard to fit it in later!!!!
Let's scrap from mid morning Friday until late into the night. (for those that aren't at work, of course)
And , if the weather is fine you are more than welcome to jump in the pool, or just dangle your feet, if you want!
And then leave your gear here and come back at 8.30am in the morning and we'll go down to the Kaisercraft outlet at Geelong in my big car, and then return to my place to scrap into the night again.
If you want to stay over I have five single kids beds available but just remember that three of them are up ladders so you'll have to get in quick for a bottom bunk!!!
Of course, if you just want to come over for the Fri or the Sat that is fine too.
Just email, ring or text me and let me know.

FRIDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2011
11.00am 'til late
I'm probably crazy but I think I will need a crop night in December to keep me sane!
So I will schedule one for myself and if you feel like joining me, rather than Christmas shopping - be my guest!!!

FRIDAY 13th JANUARY 2012
11.00am 'til late

SATURDAY 14th JANUARY 2012
8.30am 'til late
Same as the November Scrap, leave your gear here overnight, and/or sleep here if you want to, then we can head down to Kaisercraft in Geelong to pick up some post Christmas bargains, or not, it's up to you, the participants. Or just scrap on FRIDAY or SATURDAY, if that suits you better.
Just let me know if you are coming or not.
